Priory Bowls Club was formed in 1926 originally playing their games at Southsea Castle under the name of East Anglian Whist Club, three years later in 1929 they moved to Milton Park. It wasn't until 1934 they changed their name to Priory Bowls Club, taking their name from the road running outside the Milton Park green. In 2024 the club made a big decision to become a mixed club.
Four mens teams playing in the P&DBA and one ladies team in the P&DWBA. Priory mens teams are in League 1, whilst the two Combination sides, Priory Black are in League 1 and Priory Silver are in League 3. There is also a Midweeks Triples side in the Town Red League. The ladies have one team playing in the P&DWBA C League.
Over the season apart from participating in league matches the club run a number of competitions both singles and team competitions. The club also enters National Competitions and encourages its members to enter County and P&D Competitions. Priory BC also play a few friendlies against clubs outside the local area along with pre season games against local sides.
The club is managed by a Management Committee made up of Officers of the club and voted on by the members at the AGM.
The club is part of the Milton Park Bowling Association which was formed in 1991 and play all their matches on the South green.
2026 is a special year for Priory, when they will be celebrating the Centenary of the Club.
