Volunteers for Stewarding

I hope you are enjoying your bowling this season even with the typical English summer weather - changeable.

This is a plea from myself and the club management committee for volunteers to come forward to help with the stewarding of the pavilion and greens.

We currently have only a few members who are willing to help with the duties and these are the same people week after week.

The days we have to supply stewards from Priory are as follows:

Sundays: 9.30-13.00

Mondays: 13.00-17.00 and 17.00-21.00

Tuesdays: 9.30-13.00

Wednesdays: 13.00-17.00 and 17.00-21.00

Thursdays: 17.00-21.00

Fridays: 17.00-21-00

plus, from 1st July we have an addition duty on Tuesdays 13.00-17.00

If you are able to help with any of these time slots, we will happily explain the duties to you. If you attended more than three duties, a five-pound payment for each additional duty will be accrued towards reducing your Milton Park Bowling Association fees next season.

If we as a club cannot fulfil our obligations and supply stewards, the greens and pavilion will need to close during these times. The Association will lose income and no one will be able to bowl during these times.

I do realise a lot of our members are still working but the occasional help on days/evenings/weekends when you are available would be very much appreciated.

When we take over the lease in April 2026 from the Council, we will require teams of volunteers for green, ground and pavilion maintenance. If you have any trades or skills and are willing to offer them to support the club, please let us know so we can begin to build a team.

Finally, can I personally thank all the volunteers who have performed a duty or many duties you have all been brilliant, but as I have mentioned already if you are willing to help with stewarding duties this season, please contact Martin Eggleton or myself as soon as possible.
